These names refer to Jerez’s position on the frontier of Moorish Spain, and the Alcazar (fortress) is a reminder of the town’s strategic importance. The real urban development of Jerez began in Muslim times, during the Almoravide and Almohade periods when mosques and palaces were built and the town was extended dramatically.

Clifton Beach, on the Arabian Sea, is a beach in Clifton, Karachi, Pakistan, one of the neighborhoods of Saddar Town. The beach has attractions for families and tourists, including beachside horse and camel rides, amusement parks, restaurants, and swimming in the Arabian Sea.

At some place this coast can be sandy and smooth, on others it could be rocky and dangerous. Karachi, being a big and horizontal city, has all sorts of beaches within its ever expanding borders. There are those popular spots where every one likes to visit, like Paradise Point, Hawksbay or sea view; then there are others where only few visit, like the Pir Shams island and many other islands nearby, Russian beach behind the Steel Mill of Pakistan and Gadani.

The whole beach area of Clifton and Seaview is considered safe and peaceful even in times of political tensions.

Gadani and Manora were once popular spots but with brackish water and not much they have lost their place to above mentioned beaches.

But the most photogenic beach of Karachi, in my humble opinion, is the beach that borders Baluchistan. Unfortunately, navy has closed down that stretch of beach, for no apparent reason. But you can still view it from the Sind part of the beach. That stretch of land is called Golden beach.

Sunaina tells that the best and most popular malls include the Deira City Centre – which welcomes 20 million shoppers every year, and has its own Lexus dealership if you need something to carry all of your shopping – and the Burjuman Centre, the top place for designer labels, and the Wafi Shopping Mall, where the name says it all – ‘wafi’ in Arabic translates as ‘everything you ever wanted’. Graz is the second largest city in Austria and has the reputation of being a “student city” because of the large number of universities it holds. In 2003 Graz was named the Cultural Capital of Europe by the European Union.

Noor’s intensive study program has begin. The intensive sessions are during the months of September and February. After the intensive sessions regular courses in the fall begin in October and concludes in February; spring semester begins in late February and concludes in late June. Because of the academic calendar, students are advised to study for a full year or spring semester only, if possible.

Noor has told us more about Graz. The city’s architecture is dominated largely by the struggle of the Reformists and the Habsburgs’ Counter Reformation. Protestant buildings like the Landhaus and many different palais encounter buildings like the old University, the Mausoleum and the Minoritenkirche erected to represent Catholic believes.

The most important building of baroque architecture in Graz is without doubt the Eggenberg castle. A very significant city mark is the romantic Uhrturm, a tower still using the original clockwork from 1712 and a popular first kiss area for many inhabitants. The fortress on the Schlossberg determines the townscape of the city and contains the largest collection of early modern weaponry and suits of armour throughout Europe. In the 19th century Graz grew into a large city and many representative buildings like the Karl-Franzens-University, the city hall and the opera house were erected.
